Livio had been through a tough patch. After two blood clots in the leg, a quadruple heart by-pass and a knee replacement, suffice to say Livio has had some emotional and physical challenges compounding in to 4 years of unemployment.
After just 9 weeks in the job as our first ‘at risk’ employee, Livio sent through a text on Grand Final night after he had celebrated the footy with some family members for the first time in 12 months. Their comment to Livio to inspire this – “the old Livio is back’.
Dear Shaun.
Just a few words on how much I and family and friends appreciate the chance you have given me to get back into the workforce. I love my work but when you love something it’s not called work. Our customers don’t take our rides as a normal ride, they feel like a friend is driving them somewhere and if you see all the comments they leave. It makes me feel great the work we do is fantastic and it’s coming across to my family and friends. Our customers don’t know who I am but my family and friends do. So once again I thank you for giving me my life back. Because I have been unemployed for 4 years and it’s been 4 years of hell. The only thing I can say is from now on the only way is up.
The old Livio is back!
Many thanks, Livio.
From that weekend forward, our mission has been to give our people a process to rebuild their own lives, however that fits for them. When myABLEdriver was formed, we thought we were simply providing an income – it is far, far more than that. This is dignity, purpose and pride.
Each employee has a different path in and a different one out to their form of redemption.
myABLEdriver is privileged to be able to provide the training and pathways for drivers like Livio to transform their lives.
Each ride really is a ride for good.
